Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Muntean Holding AS (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the Cozy Numbers mobile app (listed as “Sudoku” on the App Store and Google Play) and this website. We built Cozy Numbers to be calm and private: it works fully offline, needs no account, and shows no ads.

The short version

Information we process

1. On-device data. Your game progress, statistics, streaks, preferences, unlocked items and reminder settings are stored locally on your device. We do not receive or have access to this data.

2. Usage & diagnostics (Firebase Analytics). To understand how the app is used and to improve it, we use Google Firebase Analytics, which collects aggregated, non-identifying information such as app opens, screens viewed and in-app events, session length, app version, device model, operating-system version, language and approximate region (derived from IP, which is not stored by us), and a Google-generated app-instance identifier. This data is not used to personally identify you.

3. Invite-a-friend (Firebase Authentication & Cloud Firestore). If you use the optional referral feature, the app signs in anonymously (a random ID with no personal information) and stores your referral code and redemption records (anonymous IDs and timestamps) in Cloud Firestore so we can grant the free unlock. You can ignore this feature entirely.

4. Purchases (Apple, Google & RevenueCat). If you make the one-time in-app purchase, the payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see your payment-card details. We use RevenueCat to confirm purchase status (tied to an anonymous app-user ID) so we can grant and restore your unlock across your devices.

5. Notifications. Optional daily-reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device. Turning them on or off sends no data to us.

Why we process it (legal bases)

Sharing & processors

We share data only with service providers that help us run the app: Google (Firebase Analytics, Authentication, Firestore), RevenueCat (purchase management) and the Apple App Store / Google Play (payments and distribution). They process data on our behalf under their own terms. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use any advertising networks.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

Analytics data is retained according to Google Firebase’s default retention settings. Referral codes and redemption records are kept for up to 180 days and then expire. On-device data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app.

Children

Cozy Numbers is suitable for a general audience but is not directed to children under 13 (or under the relevant age of digital consent in your country, which is 13 in Norway). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA/UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because the app uses no account, the simplest ways to stop data collection are to disable analytics at the OS level where available, or to uninstall the app. You may also contact us to exercise your rights. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in Norway, this is Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.no).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, note them in the app or on this page.
